Webber: The fracture didn't bother him

The pilot Red Bull did not imagine that such a revelation could be so popular. But piloting a F1 already being a physically demanding exercise, competing in races with a fractured shoulder without anyone knowing could seem dangerous, even insane. However, the Australian claims that the painkillers allowed him not to be bothered during the race.

Christian Horner was disappointed to hear the news from the press. The Red Bull driver gave the reasons which pushed him to hide his injury. ?I was sure that it wasn?t going to affect my performance in the car, that’s why I didn’t tell anyone,” explained Mark Webber.

But the Australian forgot to say that he was in the middle of a fight for the title and that he could not afford to miss a GP. “I have never missed a GP, but I would have warned the team if I had found myself unable to drive at the limit while being safe. The shoulder didn't give me any problems, so there was no need to tell anyone about it. »

Mark Webber also clarified that his shoulder injury had nothing to do with his absence from the Abu Dhabi tests. “Some people have asked me if the shoulder was the reason for my absence from the Abu Dhabi test in November, but that has nothing to do with it. I never planned to do these tests,” said the Australian.
