Webber: Status depends on age

The Australian seems to be the only contender Red Bull for the title, two races from the end of the season. Even if Christian Horner had chosen earlier in the year to favor the best placed driver, the Red Bull director has since reversed his choice. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel now find themselves on an equal footing, even if 14 points separate the two drivers.

The status of Sebastian Vettel, considered a pillar of Dieter Mateschitz's team for the future, could annoy the Australian who is at the end of his career. But Mark Webber does not seem affected by this age difference. “ It doesn't worry me at all. I?m 34 years old and I think it?s great to still be at the highest level “, declares the Red Bull driver to autosprint.

The German?s teammate, however, concedes that the age difference between the two drivers plays an important role in the team. “ If I were ten years younger and achieved the same results, I'm sure you would all consider me a superstar. I think the only difference is Vettel's youth. I don't see him working any differently than Heikki (Kovalainen) at Lotus. I think the best way to judge someone is to take into consideration the consistency of their results. »
