Webber didn't give up

Mark Webber, like his teammate, will have experienced a season of ups and downs. But, for the Australian, the results are good. In Germany, he won the first victory of his career, doubling his score in Brazil. This Sunday, the pilot Red Bull took second place in Abu Dhabi, behind Sebastian Vettel.

But, after collecting a good lead, Webber had to deal with the return of Jenson Button. “ At the end, I no longer had any feeling with the soft tires. I was quite slow with these tires. »

Jenson Button, five laps from the finish, returned to Webber's wheels. “ I knew it would be a fight to the end, confides the Australian. I had to ensure my braking points and be precise. But the fight was healthy and pleasant. »

As for the Briton, although he was unable to catch up with Webber, he appreciates his third place on the podium. “ I liked this fight. It?s a bonus to finish on the podium after the year we had. I have to thank everyone, Brawn and Mercedes for their hard work. »

Despite the titles acquired in Sao Paulo, the Briton wanted to remain competitive. “ After Brazil, we could have easily slowed down. But it wasn't necessary. We managed to get a podium, it?s a great way to end the year. »
