Williams: 'I'm not going to make excuses'

Claire Williams did not lend itself to the positive communication established at the start of the season. The absence of the FW42 during the first two days of testing reinforced doubts about the performance level of the new car of Grove. The Team Principal of the British team is aware that the start of the season is not as expected.

“It would be an understatement to say that the last few days have been horrible, Frank Williams' daughter recognized on Sky Sports. It was a difficult birth of the FW42. We had to make sure we presented the best car possible and that's why we delayed our testing until today. »

“It opened my eyes, added Claire Williams. I think we take things a little too much for granted, even for someone like me who has been in this world for so long. Everyone was able to present their car on time except us. So I'm not going to make excuses. The atmosphere is weird at the moment within the team. It was difficult for everyone. The disappointment felt by everyone cannot be underestimated. »

George Russell was able to present the Williams FW42 during an installation lap at the start of the afternoon, but the car did not return to the track with less than three hours remaining in the day.
