Williams, a stable in full restructuring. The Grove structure experienced an eventful winter with the successive departures of Jost Capito, former principal director, and François-Xavier Demaison, former technical director. If the first position has found a taker, in the person of James Vowles, Williams has still not found a replacement for the French engineer. A position left vacant, a few days before the first Grand Prix of the season, in Bahrain. Currently, Dave Worner is acting as interim manager for the British team.

However, Williams appears to be in no rush to find a new technical director. At a press conference, the team's new Team Principal, James Vowles, affirmed that his team prefers to take the time to reflect. “We are not going to rush to make a decision. The key is to ensure we find the right fit for the organization for the long term. »

Williams wants “ make sure you have the right person in place”

So thatAlexander albon et Logan sargeant are stringing together laps during winter testing on the Sakhir circuit, James Vowles assures that his team is doing very well for the moment despite the vacant position. “There is a strong organization in place and it is operating without a technical director as we speak today, there is a car on the track, it is built, they have done an incredible job over the winter to achieve this, underlined the former chief strategist of Mercedes. What is clear is that it's not about putting someone in place in the short term, it's about the long term and making sure we have the right person in place. »

Williams should therefore start the season without a technical director, but also without a head of aerodynamics. James Vowles specified that the Grove structure was currently looking for an engineer to fill this position as well.
