Williams wants to return to the Top 10

The last time that Williams scored a point, it was at Spa-Francorchamps, in Belgium, on August 28. This point scored by Maldonado came at the right time four Grands Prix without a FW33 in the top 10. In short, the figures speak for themselves, the Grove team is struggling. In Japan, Maldonado and Barrichello finished 14th and 17th respectively, after starting from 14th and 13th places on the starting grid. In Korea, the goal, even if it will be difficult to achieve, will be to get at least one of the two cars into the top 10.

“After a difficult weekend at Suzuka, the entire team reacted quickly and worked hard to ensure that the problems that handicapped us during free practice on Friday did not recur, explains Mark Gillan, head of engineering operations at Sir Frank?s team. For this 55-lap event, Pirelli provides us with soft and super soft tires, like in Singapore. Last year, we saw a noticeable evolution in grip over the sessions, and we expect the same to happen this year. The weather forecast currently predicts a rainy day on Friday and the risk of showers all weekend. We must therefore be prepared to evolve our program according to conditions. We want to offer our two drivers as much testing and adjustment time as possible on Friday in order to optimize the set-up. Our objective is obviously to score points, and to show real progress in our performances. »

The end of the 2012 season still promises to be very difficult for Grove.
