Wolff: Hamilton / Rosberg, “the most homogeneous duo” on the board

Mercedes was not expected at this level this year. On the side of the star firm, at the start of the season, we hardly dared to mention a possible victory, arguing that they were aiming more for 2014. And yet, at the end of the eleventh round, Mercedes can pull off a more than honorable provisional results for the current season with three victories on the clock, and a good second place in the Manufacturers' championship behind Red Bull. This weekend in Monza, for the Italian Grand Prix, Ross Brawn and his men will aim to continue the same dynamic.

“I was delighted with the team's performance in Belgium and the consolidation of our second place in the Manufacturers' Championship, underlines the British team principal. We weren't able to fight for victory, but we will work hard to close the gap and keep fighting. »

If the W04 brings all satisfaction, having notably, it seems, resolved its concerns regarding tire wear, Toto wolff especially insists on the fact that he has one of the best pairs on the board, if not the best. “We had a good overall result in Belgium with third and fourth places, continues the executive director of Mercedes. It highlights one of the team's strengths this year, namely its drivers. Their performances show that Lewis and Nico are certainly the most homogeneous duo on the set. Their ability to combine speed and consistency helped lift Mercedes to second place in the Constructors' Championship. And our objective is clearly to consolidate this position during the races to come. At Monza, we will use a revised version of the package introduced at Spa. We hope that our race pace will improve. »
