La Clean Academy has a new hope in the person of Zane Maloney. The young man from Barbados has joined the Swiss fold with a view to the 2024 season. He thus joins Theo Pourchaire, Carrie Schreiner and Léna Bühler.
Zane Maloney, FIA runner-up Formula 3 in 2022, was thus released by Red Bull, who included him in his Junior Team following this performance in F3. In 2024, Zane Maloney will try to win the FIA title Formula 2 with Rodin Motorsport (ex-Carlin), all participants in the Stake development program F1 Team (ex-Sauber). The Swiss team made him one of its reserves, along with Frenchman Théo Pourchaire.

“His journey through the junior series has been remarkable so far and, with his speed and potential, he is undoubtedly a great addition to our talented squad, said Beat Zehnder, director of the Sauber Academy. In addition to his campaign in F2, where he will try to succeed Théo Pourchaire on the prize list, Zane will also share with him the role of reserve driver for the Stake F1 Team. »
“The Sauber name resonates with Formula 1, as it has been a part of the sport for over thirty years and has paved the way for many drivers who have gone on to achieve great success, said Zane Maloney. I am happy to be part of this family and look forward to working with them this season, as I get closer to my goal of becoming a Formula 1 driver.”
