125 cars for the 24 2021 Hours of Nürburgring

After an autumn 2020 edition, the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring (Germany) returns to its spring place, from June 3 to 6. The 2021 vintage attracts no less than 125 cars, an increase of 29 units compared to last year.

The preference is for the SP9, the equivalent of the GT3, with 34 cars. Porsche is the manufacturer best represented with eight 911 GT3 R, closely followed by BMW, Audi and Mercedes with seven units. Not approved for the GT3, the Glickenhaus 004C and the Mercedes-AMG with electronic steering are in the SPX class.

 

 

Title holders Rowe Racing will wear the number 1 with a quartet of Nicky Catsburg, John Edwards, Philipp Eng and Nick Yelloly. On the French side, Romain Dumas and Julien Andlauer are entered in the Rutronik Racing Porsche while Kevin Estre will drive the fluorescent yellow and green Porsche of Manthey-Racing. Team GetSpeed ​​will trust Jules Gounon and Matthieu Vaxiviere.

The Frikadelli team will partly speak the language of Molière thanks to Mathieu Jaminet, Patrick Pilet and Frédéric Makowiecki. Lamborghini representative Franck Perera will strengthen the FFF Racing Team. Note the presence on an Audi R8 LMS GT4 of Celia Martin in the 100% female WS Racing team.

An original crew will be present, composed of Carlos Tavares (CEO of Stellantis), Jean-Philippe Imparato (Director ofAlfa Romeo) and François Wales (boss of Peugeot Sport) on an Opel Astra Cup. In TCR, Jean-Karl Vernay will discover the Green Hell with Hyundai.
