Four hours before the finish of the 24 Hours of Spa, three cars (and three different brands) are still on the same lap. For victory, the fight has been underway for a long time between the Ferrari 488 of Côme Ledogar, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessandro Pier Guidi (Iron Lynx) and the Audi R8 LMS of Dries Vanthoor, Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde (Team WRT). As you pass through the pits, the gaps vary by barely a handful of seconds.
Remember that this Audi started from 55th place on the grid after completely missing qualifying. Furthermore, respecting the limits of the track, about which the race direction is very vigilant, could well arbitrate this fight. At this point (and for the last quarter of the race), the Ferrari has only one caution compared to 3 for the Audi. At the fifth warning, the car is penalized with a drive through.
Another view of that battle for the lead.
