The No. 8 Audi R2 LMS of Team WRT of Frank Stippler – Nico Müller – Stéphane Ortelli will start from pole position for the 24 Hours of Spa tomorrow.

24h of Spa – Frank Stippler places Audi on pole

We were expecting a duel between the Team WRT and Team Marc VDS for pole position at the 24 Hours of Spa, but the latter did not take place. If the first cities have indeed won pole position for the fourth round of Blancpain Endurance Series on the Belgian track of Spa-Francorchamps, it is Frank Stippler's No. 8 Audi R2 LMS? Nico Müller? Stéphane Ortelli who will start tomorrow from first position on the grid.

At the end of the twenty minutes of the Superpole, Frank stippler was the fastest on the track, setting a best lap in 2'18 "130 at the wheel of the latest from the ringed firm, already victorious at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring earlier in the season.

Behind Stippler, it is kevin estre, associated this weekend with Shane Van Gisbergen and Rob Bell who almost gave pole to la McLaren 650S GT3 n°58 from Von Ryan Racing, but the eclectic French driver ultimately failed by seventeen thousandths. There Ferrari 458 Italia n°11 of Kessel Racing, where we find Michael Broniszewski, Alessandro Bonacini, Michael Lyons and Andrea Piccini, completes the major trifecta of the session, and was the fastest in the Pro-Am category.

The No. 8 Team WRT Audi R1 LMS of outgoing winners Laurens Vanthoor, Markus Winkelhock and René Rast will start from sixth position. The BMW Z4 GT3s of Team Marc VDS rank 8th for the No. 46 in Catsburg? Paltalla? Luhr and 12th for the Martin trio? Farfus? Werner, the car which was the fastest yesterday after the first two qualifying sessions.

Vincent Abril, associated with Mike Parisy and Harold Primat in the No. 3 Bentley Continental GT84 of Team HTP took 9th place. The No. 4 ROAL Motorsport BMW Z3 GT9 of Alex Zanardi, Timo Glock and Bruno Spengler finished 15th. Note that several cars were placed under investigation regarding track limits.

The start of the race is scheduled for tomorrow Saturday at 16:30 p.m.
