At the end of a suspenseful finale, Audi Sport Team Land had ripped off victory last year at 24 Hours of Nürburgring, thanks to the crew of the No. 8 R3 LMS GT29 of Van der Linde-De Phillippi-Mies-Winkelhock.
The brand with the rings had thus recovered its throne in the Eifel, abandoned in 2016 in Mercedes. In 2018, Audi Sport intends to repeat its performance for a fifth success and will officially support four cars, spread across four different teams.
If we will find the regulars Team WRT, Team Land and Team Phoenix, all former winners at least once in the Green Hell, Team BWT, headed by Peter Mücke will be the big news from the Audi clan.
The German team Mücke Motorsport, engaged in recent years alongside Mercedes, whether in GT or in car, will run a car and will be able to count on a strong duo with the presence of the defending champion Markus Winkelhock and Christopher Haase, winner in 2012.
Both drivers also won the 24 Hours of Spa last year with Audi Sport Team Saintéloc.
The Audi Sport crews at the 24 2018 Hours of Nürburgring:

Audi Sport Team Country
Kelvin van der Linde/Sheldon van der Linde/Christopher Mies
Audi Sport Team Phoenix
Nico Müller/Frank Stippler/Frédéric Vervisch
Audi Sport Team BWT
