Winner in 2017, Audi Sport Team Land dominated the first qualifying session for the 24 2018 Hours of Nürburgring.

24H Nürburgring – Audi and Team Land dominate Q1

Before the Top 30 confrontation, which tomorrow will bring together the 15 cars already selected with the results of the first two rounds of the VLN and the double-clock qualifying race (see below), the qualifications for the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring must determine the last crews elected to aim for pole in the Eifel.

The first session, played this Thursday evening, saw the domination ofAudi R8 LMS GT3 n°1 of the title holders Audi Sport Team Land. The GT with rings, entrusted to Christopher Mies, Kelvin and Sheldon van der Linde and René Rast, completed a lap of the Nordschleife in 8'18"914 to finish at the top of the session.

Follow the Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°11 – Auto Arena Motorsport of Jeroen Bleekemolen – Raffaele Marciello – Clemens Schmid – Patrick Assenheimer, clocked at 0″379, and the Audi R8 LMS GT3 n°24 – Audi Sport Team BWT of Winkelhock – Haase – Rockenfeller – Müller, third at 488 thousandths.

The first Porsche 911 GT3 R follows in 4th place with the n°17 ​​– Team75 Bernhard de Lotterer – Christensen – Cairoli – Bergmeister, while the Audi R8 LMS GT3 n°15 – Car Collection Motorsport of Kaffer – Trummer – Friedrich – de Leener completes the top 5 by half a second.

Among the favorites, the No. 8 Audi R3 LMS GT3 – Audi Sport Team Phoenix of Vervisch – Haase – Stippler – Müller is in 7th place, while the No. 8 – Audi Sport Team WRT of Rast – Frijns – D. Vanthoor – K. van der Linde finished in 18th position.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R n°912 – Manthey Racing of Pilet – Lietz – Makowiecki – Tandy enters the top 10 and precedes the twin car n°911 of Estre – Bamber – L. Vanthoor – Dumas, 33rd. L'Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 n°7 – Aston Martin Racing by Martin – Sorensen – Thiim – Turner finished the session in 21st position.

In the BMW clan, the two ROWE Racing cars climbed into the top 15, while the Mercedes-AMG GT3 – Black Falcon finished in 6th, 11th and 19th positions. The two HTP – Mann Filter examples finished further back in 23rd and 30th places.

The second qualifying session will begin tomorrow at 14:55 p.m., with the Top 30 being contested from 19 p.m. As a reminder, here are the 15 cars already selected for the Top 30:
