But let's return to Friday evening during the qualifications of this first stage of the Porsche Sprint Challenge France contested in the rain. Sylvain Noël set the best time in qualifying for the first race ahead of Jean-Philippe Lamic (CLRT) and Olivier Baharain (CLRT). Due to the weather conditions, qualifying for the second race was postponed until Saturday morning and, in the dry, Emil Caumes (CLRT) took pole position ahead of Jean-Philippe Lamic in second place, Sylvain Noël completing the leading trio.

In the Sport Cup Series, Jean-Charles Carminati (Riviera Motorsport) was the fastest ahead of Margaux Verza (CG Motorsport) who came to do some freelance work in the Porsche Sprint Challenge after her very good podium in Alpine Cup the previous week on this same circuit during the Easter Cups. She even took pole position in the second qualifying ahead of her father Dimitri Verza (CG Motorsport) and ahead of Maxime Labeguerie (Garage Bourgoin) while it was Lucas Glinche (Glinche Racing) who set the third time in the first qualifying.

The track was dry at the start of the first Cup Series race which launched the season and Sylvain Noël took the lead without hesitation, quickly increasing his lead over Jean-Philippe Lamic and Olivier Baharian who finished the race in order. qualifications. Sixth, Yves Godard (Team 52) won the 991-2 category ahead of David Sarny (Berto Matériaux) after a slight collision on the last lap. We had to go down to eighth position to find Olivier Rabot (911 Impact) who won group R and in fourteenth place to discover Pierre Vassallo (IMSA LS Group Performance) which won in category 991-1.

At the start of the second race, Sylvain Noël missed his start and moved to fourth position on the line while Emil Caumes retained the advantage of pole position, but two laps later, the Nantes driver had regained the lead to no longer leave her. Behind him, Cyril Caillo (Racing Technology), who had fallen to seventh place, made a good comeback as he finished second ahead of Emil Caumes. Yves Godard achieved a double in the 991-2 category, but it was Marc Vanwysberghe (911 Impact) who won this time in the 991-1 group.

In the Sport Cup Series, Michael Ziegler (RSR) who started in ninth position at the wheel of his 997-2 had a magnificent race for his first participation in a competition in a Porsche since he took the lead with 6 laps remaining to take the lead. impose with 2 seconds ahead of Dimitri Verza and 3 seconds over Jean-Charles Carminati, both in category 718.

He was less fortunate in the second race as he went too wide from the S du Lac, bit into the grass and ended up in the pit wall, fortunately with no other damage than a slightly redesigned front end on his 997 GT3 Cup. This caused the safety car to go out for the first time for 2 laps while the car was freed, a safety car which returned to the track 3 laps from the end following a collision with the double right-hander Claude Storez. He faded in time for the last lap to take place under the green flag, but the classification remained frozen with the victory of Charles Didier (Riviera Motorsport) ahead of Margaux Verza and Dimitri Verza.
