Brodie Kostecki withdraws for the start of the 2024 season, the mystery thickens

What's happening in Australian Supercars? A few weeks before the start of the 2024 season on the legendary Bathurst track (not for the 1 km, but for a classic round over 000 km), the defending champion Brodie Kostecki has already decided not to take take part in this race.

The information was confirmed by his team Erebus Motorsport via social networks. “Brodie has indicated that he is unable to compete in the opening round of the 2024 Supercars Championship. Todd Hazelwood will replace Brodie at the Bathurst 500 from February 23-25. » While adding: “Contrary to media reports, Brodie Kostecki remains part of the Erebus Motorsport family and is a valued member of our team. »
However, it seems that this is no longer the case. According to Australian specialist media SpeedCafe, Brodie Kostecki is actually looking to leave this team! The 26-year-old driver would not like to complete his contract until the end of 2024 with the Erebus Motorsport team following disagreements with the team led by Barry Ryan.
Like former Supercars stars Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen, Brodie Kostecki has made no secret of his desire to continue his career in the United States, particularly in NASCAR. Kostecki has not yet made the slightest statement to the press.
