Blancpain – Hexis resumes service in Monza

Here we go again Hexis Racing. After an exceptional end to 2012, marked in particular with a success in Navarra in Spain during the last Blancpain event Endurance Series (BES) the French team will finally return to competition this weekend, at the opening of the third BES season in Monza, Italy. For this test, which displays an impressive entry list of nearly 60 crews, the Philippe Dumas team hires a McLaren MP4-12C GT3. The English GT, with the number "7", will be entrusted to the expert hands of Alexander Sims, Stef Dusseldorp and Alvaro Parente, Sébastien's teammate Loeb in the FIA GT Series.

“We are heading less into the unknown than at the start of 2012”, notes Philippe Dumas, the Hexis team manager, just before getting back to serious things. “We have contributed to improving the performance and reliability of the McLaren MP4-12C GT3, and therefore surely made certain teams want to purchase it! » A nod to Sébastien Loeb Racing, who is lining up two McLarens for its first season in the FIA GT Series? Whatever happens, the Gard team approaches its first meeting of the year calmly. “In terms of preparation, I think we are right and I am very happy with our approach. We will have a clearer vision at Monza and we can't wait for the green lights to come on. Having an experienced team made up of people who work perfectly together around a single car is an undeniable asset in such a championship. This is unprecedented in terms of number of cars, quality of teams and crews. I think it’s just great”, explains Philippe Dumas, who is aiming for the summits in 2013: “Our goal is simple: to win this Blancpain championship and win the 24 2013 Hours of Spa. This requires a good dose of humility, know-how and intelligence. That is to say, for example, not wanting to win all the races at all costs, especially when you think that there will be more than 60 of us on the track! For this I am naturally counting on our fantastic team but also on our three professional drivers, Alexander, Stef and Alvaro. I am also counting on the support of McLaren GT. We have the same goal, that’s good! »

“After all, who dominated the end of the 2012 season head and shoulders? », asks the strong man of the French team. “I don’t see any reason for that to change?” We will approach this season like the previous ones, with enormous confidence in ourselves but also with our doubts. This is what keeps us moving forward. The only difference, year after year, is that we gain experience, too bad for our competitors! », concludes Philippe Dumas with a smile.
