BMW in good position to secure a 20th victory on the Nordschleife

The 24 Hours of Nürburgring (Germany) is the event not to be missed for any good German GT manufacturer. BMW has arrived in the Eifel massif with no less than six examples of its M6 GT3, distributed among cutting-edge teams such as Rowe Racing, Falken Motorsports, Schnitzer or Walkenhorst, winner of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on his first participation in 2018.

The German team is the No. 1 challenger for victory thanks to its success in the Qualifying Race last spring, with the trio of Christian Krognes, David Pittard and Nick Yelloly. “I can't wait for my first 24 hours to begin, explains the latter. Winning the last preparatory race on the Nordschleife was ideal. JWe hope to be able to consolidate our strengths based on our previous results. »

Walkenhorst Motorsport will also have the winner of the 2010 GT Academy, the French Jordan Tresson, which has converted since the end of the Nissan program to VLN racing.

Another BMW M6 GT3 finished on the second step of the podium during this event, that of Rowe Racing's Jesse Krohn and John Edwards. The yellow and white racing team can boast of having official drivers from the Bavarian firm like Philipp Eng in its ranks.

“It will be a huge battle between all the manufacturers present, believes the Austrian, who wanted to pay tribute to Charly Lamm during the briefing, the former boss of the Schnitzer team, who died last winter.

Our M6 GT3 has been running in competition since 2016, so we know its behavior almost perfectly. Winning these 24 Hours would be the realization of a dream, but I am an eternal pessimist. So many things can happen on the Nordschleife. You pass through different climates in just one ride! » Free practice proved it, with a nasty storm.
