Catsburg winner for the last in Slovakia

Starting third, Nicky Catsburg ran the perfect race to clinch his first victory in the discipline. He notably took advantage of the misfortunes of Norbert Michelisz to move into first position under the checkered flag.

On the second row when the lights went out, the Dutch driver wasted no time in taking control of this third meeting of the weekend. He got rid of Nathanaël Berthon before taking the lead following Norbert Michelisz's spin following contact with Jean-Karl Vernay.

Nicky Catsburg then had to manage his race by holding back a sluggish Jean-Karl Vernay behind him. Task accomplished for the 32-year-old driver who took his first WTCR victory ahead of him and Nathanaël Berthon with a lead of 2″3 and 4″6 respectively. Gilles Magnus and Mikel Azcona completed the Top 5 of this race 3 in Slovakia.

Victim of a big exit from the track on the last lap of race 2, Nestor Girolami did not start the final meeting of the weekend.

With 113 points in the drivers' standings, Yann Ehrlacher still dominates the debates with 21 lengths ahead of Tom Coronel and Gilles Magnus. Nicky Catsburg is 10th, 60 units from the lead.

The next WTCR meeting is scheduled for October 17 and 18 in Hungary. Three races are on the program.
