Chevrolet doesn't want to stop there

After a start to the season which saw the SEATs dominate the “American” meetings in Curitiba and Puebla, the return of the WTCC to Europe was good for Chevrolet. Taking advantage of a rebalancing of performances, the team won the last four races, contested on the circuits of Marrakech and Pau.

In Valencia this weekend, Chevrolet will have to come to terms with its status as favorite but deal with the return to classic circuits after two escapades on urban tracks. “ We have proven that the Cruze is extremely competitive on street circuits but with Valencia we are back on permanent circuits. We will have to be realistic about our expectations and pragmatic about our strategy », indicated Eric Nève, the team manager. However, Chevrolet does not intend to stop there and will try to repeat its result from last year when Rob Huff and Alain Menu won in both races.

« We had a fantastic result last year in Valencia and I hope the Cruze can match the performance of the Lacetti (the old car) as she did on the urban circuits “, declared Huff. The latter also has a card to play in the championship with only 13 points behind Yvan Muller. Moreover, his speech leaves no room for doubt as to his final intentions. “ I have to be careful and take as many points as possible in each race », concluded the Briton.
