GT – The SRO unveils the Suzuka 10 Hours

The SRO, in collaboration with the GT Association and the organizers of the Suzuka circuit, announce the creation of the Suzuka 10 Hours, a race reserved for GT3 type cars. After day and night tests on Friday and Saturday, qualifying will take the same format as the 24 Hours of Spa, namely a Superpole for the 20 best crews. A warm-up will also take place before the race from 10:30 a.m. to 20:30 p.m. local time.

The categories represented in these 10 Hours are the FIA GT3 category, the GT300s used in Super GT and the ST-X supercars, tied with the BoP of the SRO. This event will be part of the International GT Challenge but Super GT and Super Taikyu drivers will not be able to score points for their respective championships.

The tire manufacturer granted to this event is Pirelli, just like in Macau. The financial reward for this race amounts to 100 Million Yen, or a little over €770. Assistance will also be provided to the winners of the Blancpain GT Series, the ADAC GT Masters, theIMSA GTD and other major GT championships to participate in this race.
