40 cars at the GT World Challenge final

Le Castellet will be jubilant this weekend. L'Endurance GT World Challenge Europe Cup will indeed celebrate its fiftieth race, during the finale of the 2020 season on the Paul Ricard circuit. 40 cars are expected at the meeting, a slightly lower contingent.

In Pro, the McLaren of Optimum Motorsport faithful since the start of the season will be notably absent as well as the two Porsche of Rowe Racing, victorious team at the 24 Hours of Spa.

At Ferrari, both cars will be there but the date clash with the WEC forced AF Corse to reshuffle its crews. Alessandro Pier Guidi will remain the only one able to challenge for the title in No. 51 since James Calado and Nicklas Nielsen are replaced by Côme Lédogar and Sam Bird. In the No. 72, which is not in contention for the title, Antonio Fuoco and Tony Vilander will take the place of Davide Rigon and Miguel Molina alongside Sergei Sirotkin.

At AKKA-ASP, Felipe Fraga is also retained in the WEC and will leave his wheel to Maxi Buhk in the Mercedes No. 88, who can win overall and in endurance with Raffaele Marciello and Timur Boguslavskiy.

The French team is also bringing one car less than usual. The car of Fabien Barthez, Jim Pla and Thomas Drouet entered in Pro-Am will be absent. The category also loses the No. 44 Mercedes from SPS Automotive. Conversely, it gains a representative in the person of the No. 95 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari driven by David Perel, Christian Hook and Manuel Lauch. Finally in theAston Martin Garage 59 n°188, Marvin Kirchofer will replace Johny Adam alongside Chris Goodwin and Alexander West.

The complete entry list.
