Ferrari takes first row in qualifying at Le Castellet

The Prancing Horse showed its best gallop on Saturday. Both Ferrari 488 GT3s present in the Pro category this year in GT World Challenge Europe took the front row during qualifying for the championship final at the Paul Ricard circuit. The #72 SMP Racing car of Sergei Sirotkin, Antonio Fuoco and Tony Vilander took pole in 1'53"578 ahead of the #51 AF Corse car driven by Tom Blomqvist, Côme Ledogar and Alessandro Pier Guidi.

The Italian performs well in the title race. The only one of his crew to be able to win the cup, he will go far ahead of his main adversaries. There Mercedes-AMG of HRT driven by Luca Stolz, Maro Engel and Vincent Abril ranks third, remaining in ambush in the championship.

But you have to go as far as seventh position to find another competitor for the title in Endurance Cup. This is the AKKA-ASP Mercedes driven by Raffaele Marciello, Timur Boguslavskiy and Maxi Buhk. She is standing right in front of the Porsche #12 in GPX Racing in the hands of Patrick Pilet, Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet, also in the race for the crown. A little further away, the #31 Team WRT Audi driven by Mirko Bortolotti, Rolf Ineichen and Kelvin Van der Linde placed eleventh and remained in the running.

The big loser of this qualification is the No. 54 Dinamic Motorsport Porsche entrusted to Matteo Cairoli, Christian Engelhart and Sven Müller. Already in great difficulty during the various test sessions, she only managed the 26th cumulative time, in the middle of the Pro-AM and Silver.

In these categories, the Madpanda Motorsport Mercedes-AMG takes pole in Silver thanks to Ezequiel Perez Companc and Patrick Assenheimer. In Pro-Am, the best time went to the Tempesta Racing Ferrari driven by Chris Froggatt, Jonathan Hui and Eddie Cheever.
