Louis Delétraz as reinforcement at GPX Racing at Paul-Ricard

Louis Delétraz, more accustomed to single-seaters, will slip behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 R from the GPX Racing team during the Paul-Ricard 1 Km race (Var, May 000). The 30-year-old Swiss will replace Dennis Olsen, retained in the United States in Imsa

The son of Jean-Denis Delétraz underlines the importance of supporting the GPX Academy since its beginnings in motorsport. “I've made my way since joining the GPX Academy, it's a great story and driving a GPX Racing Porsche today is a bit of a way of coming full circle, says the person concerned.

“Without them, I wouldn’t be here. I am of course aiming above all for F2 this year, but I want to say that I do not consider endurance as a plan B. I really like discipline, having grown up in this atmosphere by accompanying my father on the big events. »

The Formula vice-champion Renault 2.0 Eurocup and Formula V8 3.5 was able to discover the Porsche during the pre-season tests at Le Castellet in mid-March.

"I love the Porsche, it's a very beautiful car which requires a different driving style compared to the car, due to its weight, traction control and ABS. This weekend with my teammates Romain Dumas, Thomas Preining and Dennis Olsen, we worked well on the set-ups and I am happy to have been able to participate in the development. I think I integrated well into the team. »

Pierre-Brice Mena, main team of theoutgoing winning team of the 24 Hours of Spa, explains this selection. “ It’s a choice that makes sense because he was the first member of the GPX Academy and we will welcome Louis to the team with great pride. Frédéric Fatien himself detected it at the stage of karting and accompanied him throughout his career.

Although GT is not his current priority, Louis is very motivated by this challenge. We had this project in mind for a long time but we were waiting to have the right opportunity and to be able to entrust him with the right car. At Paul Ricard, he will race in the best conditions: in a PRO team supported by Porsche. As expected, he was comfortable and very fast during the tests. We can't wait to be back at Paul Ricard. »
