Great first for Valentino Rossi. The multiple world champion of MotoGP, converted to motorsport and more precisely to GT since 2022, won his first trophy on Sunday on the Brands Hatch circuit. In Great Britain, the Italian – accompanied by Maxime Martin aboard the Team WRT BMW – came second in Race 2 in GT World Challenge Europe. A race won by Tresor Orange1 represented by Mattia Drudi and Ricardo Feller.

“I am very happy with this second place and this first podium, rejoiced the ex-MotoGP champion. We came very close last year and at Monza at the start of the season, and finally it happened. We all did a good job, the team, myself and Maxime [Martin], who set a great time in qualifying. The pit stops were perfect, and the result is this podium, which is all the more rewarding as the Sprint Cup races are more difficult. »

Thanks to this result, Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin unlock their counter with 12 points scored and move up to 11th place overall in GT World Challenge Europe. Next meeting for Valentino Rossi: the prologue of the 24 Hours of Spa on May 23 and 24, then theEndurance Cup with a six-hour race on the Paul-Ricard circuit (June 2-4)… before joining Sarthe and with a participation in Road to Le Mans, the weekend of June 10 and 11.
