SRO launches GT World Challenge Australia

All that is missing is Africa and SRO will have colonized all the continents. The promoter has formalized the launch of the GT World Challenge Australia, based on the model already existing in Europe, Asia and the United States.

As announced Thursday, SRO is teaming up with historic local organizer Australian Motorsport Group (ARG) to take over the country's GT sprint and endurance championships.

The GT World Challenge Australia will adopt the sporting and technical regulations that SRO has implemented throughout the world, including its balance of performance. Brands entering Australia will be able to score points for the World Manufacturers' Championship.

ARG general manager Ken Collier will lead the Australian series which will feature five sprint rounds in 2021 plus a three or four hour race. “ After the opportunity given by Motorsport Australia to jointly run the championship with ARG, it was natural to align it with our series on other continents” commented Stéphane Ratel, the boss of SRO. “The close connection between these series will also bring a great opportunity for manufacturers.”
