United Autosports buys Strakka Racing

If United Autosports began its adventure in GT in 2010, it is mainly in LM P2 that the team of Richard Dean and Zak Brown has officiated in recent years with certain success on the scene. ELMS in 2020.

But with the announced takeover of the Strakka Racing team, accustomed to GT3 in past seasons with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and McLaren 650S GT3, a return of United Autosports to Grand Touring is taking shape more and more.

“Zak and I have been looking to get back into GT for a while now and this acquisition is a step in that direction, admits Richard Dean. Strakka has been a team that has found success with top-notch equipment, so this move makes perfect sense.

GT racing is still as popular as ever and the grids in the UK, Europe and internationally have managed to get through this difficult period we are currently going through. I look forward to this new chapter in the history of United Autosports. »

With Zak Brown officiating at McLaren Racing, a move to the new 720S GT3 might seem logical, but more details will be given in the coming weeks.
