HTP and Mercedes lead first night qualifying

The first qualifying session ahead of the 24 2019 Hours of Nürburgring (Germany) lasted three hours on the evening of Thursday June 20. On the 25 km long circuit (Nordschleife + Grand Prix), it is the Mercedes-AMG GT3 from the HTP team which was the fastest in the hands of Lance David Arnold.

On a fresh and mostly dry track, the Audi R8 LMS driven by René Rast (Team Car Collection) failed just 211 thousandths behind the leader. The top 5 is completed by Gabriele Piana (Mercedes), Laurens Vanthoor (Porsche) and Conor de Phillippi (BMW).

Two French people appear in the top 10: Kevin Estre with the No. 911 Manthey-Racing Porsche and Tristan Vautier (8th) in the GetSpeed Performance Mercedes.

Despite the duration of this session, few incidents were recorded. A few cars left the track, without causing endless neutralization.

Even if the Top 30 session is only scheduled for Friday at 17 p.m., 17 cars have already obtained their entry ticket for this Super Pole: 16 GT3s and Glickenhaus 003C. These cars were chosen on the basis of their times achieved during the three rounds of the VLN at the start of the year as well as during the Qualifying Race (practice + race).

Teams already qualified for the Top 30:
