Hyundai presents its Elantra TCR

A presentation made even though Hyundai had decided not to show up at the start of the WTCR round at the Nürburgring, not deeming the competition fair after the first round in Zolder.

Drawing on the experience acquired, notably with the i30 N, titled at the highest level in WTCR, Hyundai was able to offer this new car which features as its main novelty a two-liter turbo power unit, derived from the very latest production engine base. in the brand's range.

Traction as required by the TCR technical regulations, the Elantra will offer a six-speed sequential gearbox identical to that of the i30 N and Veloster. The development, spread over three months, allowed Hyundai to cover more than 5 km of tests.

“The Elantra N TCR is a very pleasant car to drive, and this has been the case from the first tests, confesses Gabriele Tarquini, development pilot. There are lots of small changes that customer teams and drivers will really appreciate, such as improvements to the steering system compared to previous cars. »

The Elantra will be available before the end of 2020 for interested teams.
