The close of the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge season (IGTC) on the Abu Dhabi circuit this Sunday, December 11 gave the Ferrari 488 GT3 a grand outing as part of the 12 Hours of the Gulf.

Starting in fourth place, the AF Corse-Francorchamps Motors team car shared between Antonio Fuoco, Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado moved up the rankings to occupy the lead of the race as the sun set at Yas Marina .
The Ferrari 488, which will be replaced by the 296 GT3 from the 24 Hours of Daytona next winter, took advantage of the troubles of the GruppeM team, which had nevertheless placed its two Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the first line.
Forced to retire in the second hour (water pressure problem), Daniel Juncadella won the IGTC 2022 Drivers' title alone. His teammates Jules Gounon and Raffaele Marciello could have joined the Spaniard if their mount had finished first or second in this event.
Merc were guaranteed to sweep all three #IGTC titles after wrapping up the manufacturers' and Pro-Am championships at Indy.
And it now officially has its first drivers' champion since @TristanVautier in 2018.

Not content with winning the 12 Hours of the Gulf, AF Corse also signed the double thanks to the second final position of the Nicklas Nielsen-Alessio Rovera-Davide Rigon crew.
The French Saintéloc Racing team completed the podium thanks to official Audi Sport representatives Patrick Niederhauser and Christopher Haase, who were accompanied by the young Frenchman Erwan Bastard. The 22-year-old ESTACA engineering student took part in his first event at the wheel of a GT3, at the end of a year marked by the title. FFSAGT and GT4 European Series in the Silver Cup.
