The Peugeot 308 Racing Cup: from the cup to the TCR

At the end of the TCR Benelux round in Mettet on October 30 in which the 308 Racing Cup takes part, orders will be officially opened at Peugeot Sport Racing Shop. In addition to its increased performance and its driving pleasure; a reasonable price, numerous possibilities of use and lower operating costs give it solid arguments.

The 2017 Marque Cup, the 308 Racing Cup, will be very attractive due to the quality of its meetings, with the exceptional Total 24h of Spa on the program, and its most interesting prizes.

If the 308 Racing Cup is already eligible for the entire range of touring car races: TCR, ETCC, VLN, 24h series etc., a “TCR Perfo kit” will be available for the 2018 season, enough to allow to fight at the best level of the international TCR.

Orders open!

The 308 Racing Cup continues its tour! After more than 23 kilometers of driving, particularly in racing conditions (Alcaniz, Spa, Nürbürgring, etc.) and in championships such as the TCR, the VLN or the ETCC – the 000 Racing Cup will be perfectly equipped to meet the requirements drivers and teams.
Driven by Aurélien Comte, the outgoing champion of the RCZ Racing Cup, and Frédéric Bouvy, it will race this Sunday in Mettet against stiff competition from the TCR Benelux. At the end of this race, orders will be officially opened.

Its design was designed from the start – particularly on the engine side – to reduce operating costs. The result obtained is significant with a 15% reduction in technical costs compared to the RCZ Racing Cup in 2016 (single engine for the season).

A very attractive Brand Cup and multiple outlets

Peugeot Sport has chosen to follow the FFSA by registering its “Cup” as part of the new “French Circuit Championship”, orchestrated by SRO, over the 5 French racing weekends which will allow the 308 Racing Cup to benefit from a magnificent setting for its 2 sprint races per meeting.

The most notable event of the season will certainly be the two curtain-raising races of the Total 2h of Spa. An exceptional circuit and event.

Marquee Cup Schedule

April 15-17 NOGARO (Gers)

May 20-21 PAU (Pyrénées-Atlantique)

July 1-2 DIJON (Côte-d’Or)

July 29-30 SPA (curtain raiser of the 24 hours)

September 8-10 MAGNY-COURS (Nièvre)

October 13-15 PAUL RICARD (Var)

The champion of this 2017 vintage will be rewarded with a 308 Racing Cup equipped with a “TCR performance kit”. Enough to offer very good prospects for development.

In the marketed definition, the 308 Racing Cup is also already eligible for all series operating touring cars such as: TCR series, ETCC, TCES (Touring Car Endurance Series), VLN (Germany), CER (Spain), CITE (Italy) or “24H series”.

These vast possibilities of use are a key economic element for a 308 Racing Cup owner, Team or individual.

A “TCR Perfo kit” for the 2018 season

Already equipped with 308 horsepower, a light weight, a high-performance chassis and specific electronics, the 308 Racing Cup still has interesting development potential that Peugeot Sport engineers are already working on in order to offer a “TCR Perfo kit” adaptable to the 2017 car. It will be available for the 2018 season.

The objective of this version is clearly to allow its customers to be able to compete at the highest level of the “TCR International” series. This kit will notably bring very significant improvements to the engine, ground connections and aerodynamics.

The 308 Racing Cup in figures…

“Feather” weight of 1100 kg maximum (1145 TCR approval)

308 horses

Motorsport electronics

6-speed sequential gearbox controlled by paddles on the steering wheel
