Lamera Cup – In Dijon, Continental Racing takes pole

In the cool of Dijon, the Lamera Cup tested this Friday a new qualifying format which, if the teams' feedback is positive, will become the norm next year. It first consists of two 17-minute sessions, each contested by a different driver within each crew. These first 34 minutes allow, by adding the best times of each driver, to establish a scratch classification.

Next comes a Superpole open to the 15 fastest cars. The starting order of this Superpole is determined by drawing lots. The Lameras set off two by two, spaced 30 seconds apart, for a three-lap run with a single flying lap determining their position on the starting grid. Discreet during the first free practices (13th time), more efficient in EL2 (4th time), Continental Racing (n°40) took pole position on its home soil. Third in the provisional general classification, mathematically still in the race for the title, the trio Fargier, Maire, Billet are ahead of the Lamera Scania France (n°41 – Darne, Portmann, Hausberger, Guignard), best representative of the Pro category on the grid. Am. Leader of the championship since the last meeting in Misano, Auto Leclerc by Asphalte (n°61 – Orgeval, Gruau, Casals), will start 3rd.

The No. 62 Lamera of Team Lamera (Couasnon, Wilfried, Thomas and Mattéo Merafina) completes the 2nd row. Also in the running for the 2021 title, the ETC Racing 2 trio – Parsa, Dufour, Demigneux – must settle for 8th time. Leader of the Pro-Am category, the CTF Racing Stage trio (Beraud, Poret, Boust) will try to win their first Lamera Cup title by starting from 9th place. Best representative of the Gentleman category, the RAR Team (Lamera n°34 – Harang, Roméo and Raffaele Zanato) set the 13th fastest time.
