At the end of this first day of the Lamera Cup, it was the Team Lamera #62 team which triumphed over the others on the Nevers Magny Cours circuit. However, it was not won: the track experienced two rainy episodes which caused small spins.

Team #62 is that of the Merafina family, organizers of the Lamera Cup championship. Mattéo and Thomas Merafina make up this crew with Pierre Couasnon in addition. Their racing intelligence and consistency are to be applauded, as they maintained their pace over the 4 hours.

Three elements sum up the Lamera team's race, according to Thomas Merafina: “Challenge, strategy and team victory”. He adds that “in the results we see the four drivers who won but that's not all. Behind it, there is a whole team of mechanics who prepare the car and organizers who make our job easier.”

Thomas Boust, winner in the Pro-Am class, also praised his team: “We had a smooth race, with perfect relays, we knew how to manage the changes of track and weather. All three of us rode consistently without any mistakes and that’s how we finished first.” Additionally, he talked about his team's strategy, which is essential to their team victory. Quick driver changes, refueling under code 60 and good physical preparation were the key words of his victory in the 2 be 3 #70 from CTF Performance.

It must be said that it was not easy. Several Code 60s (the equivalent of a Full-Course Yellow) came to spoil the party on the track. Over the four hours of racing, there were five Code 60s which slowed down the drivers as well as several penalties for non-compliance with track limits.

All in all, an exciting four hours of racing with constant changes. See you tomorrow for the second race!
