The first 8 Hours of Indianapolis (October 3-4) has the difficult task of relaunching a 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge season (IGTC) interrupted for eight months due to Covid-19. After the inaugural event of Bathurst 12 Hours (won by Bentley), heading towards the infield with 23 cars including 13 GT3 and 12 GT4.
En GT3, seven different brands will be present. THE French Jules Gounon, the Belgian Maxime Soulet and the South African Jordan Pepper will be associated at Bentley on behalf of K-Pax Racing.
BMW will send two M6s with its flagship IGTC team, Walkenhorst Motorsport. No. 34 will be shared between Augusto Farfus, Nicky Catsburg and Connor de Philippi while No. 35 is reserved for Martin Tomczyk, Nick Yelloly and David Pittard.
The participation of Ryan briscoe will be monitored in the Ferrari 488 of Vital Speed training, even if the regular entry in Imsa will have to evolve with two Silver drivers (Jeff Westphal and Trevor Baek).
Le Team WRT will count on Mirko Bortolotti and Markus Winkelhock in an Audi R8 LMS with silver Spencer Pumpelly. The official team Honda racing will have big ambitions with the trio Mario Farnbacher-Dane Cameron-Renger van der Zande.
