Loris Hezemans starts the 2021 season perfectly in Valencia

Last winner of the 2020 season on the same Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia in Spain, Loris Hezemans repeated his performance this Saturday for the opening of the 2021 campaign in Nascar Whelen Euro Series.

Starting from pole, the driver of the No. 7 Ford – Hendriks Motorsport however had to lose at the start to the best performance of reigning champion Alon Day (Chevrolet No. 88 – CAAL Racing). The fight between the two drivers intensified, giving Gianmarco Ercoli (Chevrolet n°54 – CAAL Racing) the opportunity to get closer to the leading duo.

In the 5th round, Hezemans regained his position against Day, who lost second place to Ercoli. But exceeding the track limits for the latter will force the race management to sanction Ercoli and Day by 5″, offering second place to Nicolo Rocca (Chevrolet n°22 – DF1 Racing). Ercoli saved his 3rd place ahead of Thomas Ferrando (Ford n°1 – Academy Motorsport / Alex Caffi Motorsport) and Day.

Jacques Villeneuve (Academy Motorsport / Alex Caffi Motorsport) finished 7th.
