Manthey Racing will not appeal the exclusion of Porsche no. 911

Last week, the exclusion of the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°911 of Manthey Racing, entrusted to Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor, Michael Christensen and Earl Bamber, second at the finish behind the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo – Phoenix Racing of Vervisch – D. Vanthoor – Stippler – Kaffer , had been declared by the ADAC commissioners.

The car had been checked with non-compliant engine power (higher than the 494hp required with the tolerance margin of 4%). An appeal remained possible for the German team, but Manthey Racing will ultimately not appeal as confirmed this Monday.

“The engine of our inspected 911 complied with all the essential points of approval, specifies the stable. The only thing that does not comply with the prescribed 2 x 34,6 millimeter diameter of the restrictor, which corresponds to the size we used, is the performance value calculated by the ADAC technical committee.

We have to accept the fact that we have not checked the plausibility of the value calculated by the organizer, neither on the test bench in Weissach, nor on our bench in Meuspath. We accept the judgment and will not appeal. »

The podium behind the winning Audi is therefore validated with Mercedes-AMG of Team Black Falcon entrusted to Maxi Buhk, Hubert Haupt, Thomas Jäger and Luca Stolz who took second place, while the new podium is completed by the Audi of the Team Car Collection of Markus Winkelhock, Christopher Haase, Marcel Fässler and René Rast.
