Mercedes-AMG will arrive in force at Spa

2013 marks the last success of a car badged with the star Mercedes at the 24 Hours of Spa. That year, it was again the old SLS GT3, operated by HTP Motorsport, which triumphed in the Ardennes.

Since then, it is impossible to say that Mercedes-AMG has not played the leading role. Both in 2016 and 2017, AKKA-ASP came very close to winning, despite the unenviable episode of overall penalties inflicted after qualifying on the Mercedes-AMG GT3.

In 2018, no less than 13 cars will be present in Belgium to defend the colors of Stuttgart. Four of them, the n°88 for AKKA-ASP for Tristan Vautier – Raffaele Marciello – Dani Juncadella, the n°43 from Strakka Racing (Maxi Buhk – Maxi Götz – Alvaro Parente), the n°4 from Team Black Falcon (Yelmer Buurman – Maro Engel – Luca Stolz) and the last, flanked by the No. 84 for Team Mann-Filter (Renger van der Zande – Edoardo Mortara – Gary Paffett), will be officially supported by AMG Performance.

The other cars will however be worth watching, in particular the No. 44 of Strakka Racing where we will find Rubens Barrichello, associated with Felipe Fraga and Christian Vietoris.
