Mirko Bortolotti leaves Lamborghini

He took Lamborghini Squadra Corse to the top of European GT3 in GT World Challenge, but also on the other side of the Atlantic by winning at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring in GTD.

After six years spent defending the interests of Sant'Agata Bolognese, Mirko Bortolotti confirmed this Monday morning that he was leaving the trans entityalpine, without however specifying its future destination.

" It's the end of an era, comments Bortolotti on his Instagram account. After 6 years with Lamborghini, I will start a new chapter in my career today. Before that, I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to Lamborghini and all the staff for this amazing trip.

Thank you for believing in me and making me who I am now. I am proud of what we have accomplished together from the very bottom. It's time for me to move on to new adventures. All good things come to an end. The memories, respect and my love for the brand will remain forever. »

Formula Two champion in 2011, the Italian had evolved for a while within the Ferrari Driver Academy. Bortolotti leaves Lamborghini with 25 victories in 151 races, 25 poles and 47 podiums. At the heart of a highly competitive category, Mirko will undoubtedly be highly coveted if he tends to stay in GT3.
