Monteiro loses his points

Following a complaint from BMW Team Germany, Tiago Monteiro was disqualified from the second race in Marrakech on May 3 even though he had taken 7th position.

BMW Team Germany lodged a complaint after the African meeting concerning the electronic boxes of the four Seat Leon TDIs of Tiago Monteiro, Yvan Muller, Gabriele Tarquini and Jordi Gené.

The commissioners checked compliance with the turbo air pressure limit with a tolerance of 0,4 bar. While the boxes of the cars of Muller, Tarquini and Gené were not faulty, that of Monteiro exceeded the authorized limit twice.

The Portuguese was excluded from the second race. Franz Engstler and Tom Coronel thus inherit seventh and eighth position.
