Nascar – Carl Edwards’ good shot at Darlington

Carl edwards (Joe Gibbs) scored his second victory of the season after that of Charlotte (North Carolina) last May by winning the Bojangles' Southern 500 in Darlington (South Carolina).

The pilot of the Toyota No. 19 spent a good part of the race catching up by two laps on the leader after choosing not to return to the pits to change his tires on the 62nd lap, unlike the majority of the field who took advantage of the race interruption. It will also be the numerous yellow flags (18 in total, a record at Darlington) which will help Edwards to get back to the front. Most of the interruptions were caused by loss of control, a consequence of the new low downforce aero package.

Carl Edwards won ahead of Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing). Joey Logano (Team Penske) and Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) complete the top five.
