Nascar – Truex Jr extends with Furniture Row

No. 78 Chevrolet for two seasons. The New Jersey native notably won a fourth place in the championship last year after fighting until the Miami-Homestead final for the title.

The move from Chevrolet to Toyota for the Denver team in 2016 did not break this momentum, with a victory at the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte (North Carolina) and a qualification already recorded for the Chase. Performances which allowed the duo to agree to extend their collaboration for two more years.

Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Boats will continue and strengthen their partnership for the No. 78 Camry for 16 races in 2017 compared to 12 this year. “I am happy to continue our momentum this season, indicates the American. This is where I want to be, driving the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota.

We have come a long way in a short time. There is much reason to feel excited and optimistic about the future of our program, given the commitment of our owner Barney Visser, the support of Toyota, the technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing and the support from Bass Pro Shops. We certainly have the resources and talent to go for victories and championships. »

The “modest” structure from Colorado (compared to the top teams Joe Gibbs or Hendrick Motorsports), will try to play the leading roles again this weekend at Watkins Glen (New York), in the first road event of the season. Winner at Sonoma in California in 2013, Truex Jr is one of the most successful drivers on the road course, even if he has never won in the Sprint Cup on the Glen track (a podium in 2013).
