The legendary English track of Brands Hatch will be put on American time this weekend with the arrival of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. The drivers of the European series will begin their second meeting of the season on the Indy track of the complex, and not on the track which in the 80s hosted the F1. And it is once again a Spaniard who we will have to watch in the person of Ander Vilarino.

The circuit has smiled on him in the past since Vilarino is the defending champion in England and has won three of the last four rounds at Brands Hatch. A good result is also necessary to avoid being left behind by the two leaders in the general standings, the Belgians Bert Longin and Anthony Kumpen, both from PK Carsport. “Qualifying will be very important, because starting beyond the top 5 will make a good result impossible. » declares Longin, for whom this will be his first participation in Great Britain.

The peloton in Elite 1 will also be reinforced by Romain Thiévain (Ford Mustang? Exotics Racing by Still) and the 2012 winner, Javier Villa, also on Mustang.
