Atlanta – Blaney overcomes Larson

Until the checkered flag is presented, the race is not over. This sentence, Kyle Larson (Hendrick Motorsport) remembered it very well. Intractable throughout the Sunday meeting with 269 laps led out of the 325 scheduled, the man in the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro lost everything in the final moments.

Hindered in particular by traffic, Kyle Larson saw his lead over Ryan Blaney (Team Penske) melt away like snow in the sun with less than ten laps to go. That’s when Blaney decided to go on the attack. Well helped by his teammate and latecomer Joey Logano, the 27-year-old driver took control of the race with eight laps to go.

Very angry, and especially against Joey Logano, Kyle Larson did not give up. The Californian tried as best he could to regain the lead but Ryan Blaney simply put him down to cross the finish line first.

In Atlanta, Ryan Blaney takes to the victory lane for the first time this season, the fifth of his young career. He is already the 6th winner in as many races this year.
