Harvick wins in Indianapolis, Johnson not qualified for the Chase

Certainly, the victory of Kevin Harvick last night in Indianapolis will go down in the history books of the Nascar. The pilot of the Stewart-Haas Racing imposed its No. 4 Ford Mustang after leading 118 of the 160 laps on the program and ahead of Joey Logano (Team Penske – Ford) and Bubba Wallace (Richard Petty Motorsports – Chevrolet) at the finish, but it was disillusionment of Jimmie johnson which will remain the highlight of the weekend.

On the Brickyard, the Nascar Cup champion saw his last hopes of joining the Chase disappear on the 105th lap, in an accident which put an end to the series of presence in the play-offs uninterrupted since 2004.

“Yeah, it's really disappointing, unfortunately we had 25 bad races leading up to where we are today and we needed a fantastic day,” commented the Hendrick Motorsports driver.

Kurt Busch's car had a little trouble restarting. I'm inside and it's just super tight. It's a shame. This is certainly not what we needed for this recovery. I couldn't go below the white line. »

On the other hand, this last race sealed the presences in the Chase of Clint Bowyer (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Ryan Newman (Roush Fenway Racing – Ford). Here is the list of 16 drivers qualified for the final stages of the season:

1. Kyle Busch, Joe Gibbs Racing: 2,045 points
