Kurt Busch joins Chip Ganassi Racing

A few hours after confirming the non-extension of his adventure with the Stewart-Haas racing, Kurt Busch formalized his move to Chip Ganassi Racing for the 2019 season Nascar Cup Series

The former 2004 champion will return for his 20th season at the highest level of Nascar, the Chevrolet brand, after two seasons contested in the Ford Fusions of Tony Stewart's team. Period which notably saw him win the Daytona 500 for the first time in February 2017.

Kurt Busch will digitally replace Jamie McMurray on the No. 1 Camaro ZL1, which will sport the Monster Energy colors, Busch's sponsor in recent years, and which will follow his protégé in this new phase of his career.

“It's a great opportunity to win races, try my hand at the championship and use the experience I've gained over all the years with a group like Chip Ganassi Racing. » Busch points out.

As for Jamie McMurray, his future remains uncertain, although Chip Ganassi has indicated that he wants the 500 Daytona 2010 winner to stay with the team.
