Kyle Busch wins at Kentucky

Starting from pole on the Kentucky oival, Kyle Busch finished the race in the same place as at the start. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver took the opportunity to take control of the Championship.

Kyle Busch wins at Kentucky

Kyle Busch gained the upper hand on his opponents during the final restart with seven laps remaining to claim his third victory of the season (his 22nd in the Sprint Cup Series). The Joe Gibbs Racing driver takes the checkered flag ahead of David Reutimann (Michael Waltrip Racing) and Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports), who moves back into the top five in the Championship.

Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing) finished fourth in the race ahead of Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing), who retained second place in the Championship after Kevin Harvick (Richard Childress Racing) lost two positions in the standings with his mediocre 16th place in the race.

Rounding out the top ten were Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing), Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing), David Ragan (Roush Fenway Racing), Kurt Busch (Penske Racing) and Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports).
