Racecar becomes Nascar discipline

It's done. There Nascar arrives in Europe thanks to the efforts made since the creation of the Racecar Series in 2009 (which became the Euro Series and labeled FIA in 2011) and the relationships established by Team FJ with the famous American organization. “ It?s a great day for everyone who took part in the Racecar Series adventure, rejoices Jérôme Galpin, the director of the Blésoise structure. Fans, drivers, sponsors, officials, teams, circuits? all played a role in the development of this championship. Joining Nascar means that you are joining a big family, for which the watchwords are passion, professionalism and commitment. Beyond recognition, this agreement gives us a fantastic boost to become a major series in Europe ».

As a Nascar Touring Series, the Euro Racecar (the new name) is therefore able to open the door to European drivers that leads to American ovals and circuits. This is how the 2012 champion, probably his runner-up, as well as the 3rd, will participate in a Nascar event in the United States. This award should also concern the winners of the Open, Junior and Challenger Trophy rankings. Finally, as a token of recognition and credit given by the industry to European competitors, the first three in the championship, as well as the best Junior and the most popular driver, will be invited to the “Nascar Night of Champions Touring Award Gala”.

The management of the championship remains under the exclusive control of Team FJ and Racecar remains registered as an FIA-labeled discipline. For its part, Nascar will provide its knowledge and expertise in order to develop the discipline in Europe. Proof of the desire of its designers to draw inspiration from the model, the first race on an oval, a temporary 600-meter short-track, will be organized in Tours on July 7 and 8 according to a specific Nascar scheme.
