It's a return to basics for Matt Kenseth. The champion Nascar Cup Series 2003, which had not extended its collaboration with Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of last year, will finally be aligned on several events in the premier category of Nascar within the Roush Fenway Racing.
A team that the 46-year-old Wisconsin native knows well having been part of it between 1999 and 2012 in the Cup Series with the 2003 title up for grabs. The two-time winner of the Daytona 500 will drive the No. 6 Ford Fusion of Jack Roush's team, starting May 12 in Kansas.
« It's great to come back to where it all started for me in Cup, says Kenseth. Few people have had as much influence on my career as Jack Roush and Mark Martin. That they believe in me today means almost as much as when they first believed in me, 20 years ago. »
Further details will be clarified on the articulation of the program between Kenseth and Trevor Bayne, present in the No. 6 Ford since the start of the season.
