Montoya to his advantage over Infineon

Nascar will travel to Infineon Raceway this weekend. The discipline, which will take place twice this season on road circuits, will notably be an opportunity for Juan Pablo Montoya to show himself after a difficult start to the season in the Sprint Cup.

Montoya to his advantage over Infineon

But another disappointment, even greater for fans of F1, concerns the results of Juan Pablo Montoya. The Earnhardt Ganassi Racing driver, who everyone expected at the highest level this season, has not yet won a single race, and worse, he does not seem to be able to do so. With only four Top 5 finishes this year, the Colombian is in 20th place in the general classification and will certainly not be in the Chase for the title race.

But the former F1 driver can still count on the event contested at Infineon Raceway this weekend, where he won his only victory in the Sprint Cup, to catch up and save his season. On a road circuit, Montoya will have the advantage of the layout since he is used to racing on this type of circuit, at the expense of most of the other drivers accustomed to the ovals of the Nascar. Some teams even replace their starters with drivers from other disciplines, more suited, according to them, to taking part in the race on a road circuit.
