NASCAR – Alex Bowman will replace Dale Jr

Hendrick Motorsport announced today that Dale Earnhardt Jr will be replaced by Alex Bowman following his retirement from the sport in 2018. At 24, Bowman has already competed in 10 races in 2016 replacing Earnhardt following a concussion.

« Since I was a child, running is the only thing I want to do, comments Bowman. There are so many people who believed in me. My family has made a lot of sacrifices and has always supported me. I would never have had this opportunity without the support of Dale and everyone involved with the N.88 team. »

Earnhardt had expressed his wish to see Bowman take over after his departure from competition. Bowman has three finishes in the top 10 to his credit, including a sixth place at Phoenix where he took pole.
