Nascar – Dodge towards a comeback?

La Nascar could see the Dodge brand return to the ovals in the near future according to Sergio Marchionne, the president of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The American manufacturer left the discipline at the end of the 2012 season after having achieved numerous successes with Team Penske which had to abandon its Chargers for Ford Fusions.

“I would love to see the brand come back. I discussed it the day before with Jim France (the executive vice-president of Nascar),” recognized Sergio Marchionne during the Ferrari's World Finals in Daytona (Florida) held this Sunday, December 4 on the Florida circuit.

“I'm the one who made Dodge leave and I obviously feel a little guilty. But for those with short memories, I must remember that we were on the verge of bankruptcy. It would have been a bit exaggerated to continue racing in Nascar when we were struggling to pay the bills and the employees”, added the Italian businessman.

La Nascar est encore disputée par trois constructeurs depuis quatre saisons, à savoir Chevrolet, Toyota and Ford.
